The opportunity to enhance employees’ retirement readiness predicates his passion for working with retirement plan fiduciaries and participants. To align participant and plan sponsor interests, he leverages his expertise in financial wellness, plan expense management, investment lineup optimization, plan design analysis, and ERISA compliance.
Since 2006, Rick has advised both defined contribution and defined benefit plan clients. Prior to joining Raymond James, he was a lead advisor for a $180 billion retirement advisory practice. Earlier in his career, Rick directly managed retirement plan assets as Head of Global
Research and Portfolio Manager for a $6 billion dollar asset management firm and held institutional investment consulting and portfolio manager roles at John Hancock and the Royal Bank of Canada.
The National Association of Plan Advisors recognized Rick as one of the nation’s top plan advisors under 40 in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. The Financial Times also named Rick to the 2020 FT 401 Top Retirement Advisors list of elite retirement plan specialists. He is a graduate of Samford University, a Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA), certified Nonqualified Plan Advisor (NPA), and holds a FINRA Series 65 (NASAA Investment Advisors Law Examination) license.
